Hi, I’m Angela Sun, the founder of Angela Education. I started my Vancouver-based practice with a simple mission: to transform university planning and admissions into a healthy, supportive space where students can truly thrive. For the past five years, I’ve taught advanced English Literature, Creative Writing, and AP courses. While studying Psychology and Creative Writing at UBC—and spending a semester abroad at the University of Mannheim—I noticed how much stress and burnout my students were facing. Realizing they needed holistic guidance rather than just more academic pressure, I began mentoring them through long-term educational planning, helping families navigate everything from school choices to securing life-changing financial aid.

My approach centers entirely on student wellness and emotional well-being. Instead of relying on a rigid, high-pressure formula, I focus on deep listening, open communication, and building real trust. By leaning into my psychology background, I help teenagers manage academic anxiety, build resilience, and discover their genuine passions. With me, students don't just survive the admissions process; they build the confidence to tell their true stories. This healthy, balanced approach has naturally led them to dream university acceptances and prestigious summer programs like the Stanford Humanities Summer Institute (SHSI) and Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS).

Operating globally across four languages—Mandarin, English, French, and German—I love bringing an open-minded, creative worldview to my students. Alongside my educational work, I hold a makeup artistry diploma from Blanche Macdonald and work internationally as a freelance makeup artist whether it’s backstage at New York Fashion Week or on set for ELLE Magazine. Whether I am helping a client express themselves through art or helping a student find their voice in an essay, the underlying heart is the same: creating a safe, inclusive space for individuals to embrace who they are and share their authentic stories with the world.
